Areas most at risk include Coastline at Barrow in Furness between 11:15 PM on Wednesday 10/04/2024 and 3:15 AM on Thursday 11/04/2024. We are expecting the tide levels to fall after this tide. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert if necessary. This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 12:30 PM on Friday 18/02/2022, with impacts possible two hours before and after this time.
Storm Eunice is forecast to bring strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast. Waves are forecast to cause flooding to the coastline at Barrow in Furness.
We are also issuing a flood warning for the coast in this area.
We expect this unsettled weather to affect the coast over the next few days.
Tonight’s high tide is not expected to require a flood alert, but we are likely to issue further alerts/warnings over the next 2-3 days, depending on the conditions that occur.
