River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall overnight. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected from 2pm and to continue overnight into tomorrow, Monday 8 February, particularly around Pluckley, Smarden, Headcorn and Staplehurst. Levels on the Beult between Stilebridge and Yalding are not expected to be any higher than those seen since December 2020. The forecast is for snow and freezing temperatures to continue throughout Sunday and Monday.
We do not expect flooding of property at this stage but are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers.

The River Beult has reacted in response to heavy rain earlier today, Wednesday 3 February. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected between 5:30pm and tomorrow morning in the Smarden, Headcorn and Hunton areas. The flooding of property is not expected. The peak conditions will occur overnight. Any flooding in Yalding will probably be localised and of low impact. Levels along the Beult valley will be comparable to that observed last weekend.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are clearing trash screens and ensuring the flow of water where possible.
Please do not drive through flood water, especially flooded roads in residential areas.

The peak in the Hunton area will be during the afternoon and through the evening of Sunday 31 January. The forecast is for relatively dry weather today Sunday 31 Jan 2021 and the same on Monday. Two systems are due to arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday, members of the public are encouraged to stay abreast of the forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation. The River Beult remains relatively high following heavy rain earlier in the week. The level is showing early signs of dropping at Smarden, Headcorn and Yalding. The level around Stile Bridge and Hunton will peak during Saturday morning. Any further rainfall over the weekend will not pose an additional flood risk. The outlook for the week ahead is largely dry. This Flood Alert will remain in force during Saturday 5 December but will probably be removed on Sunday.

River levels are expected to rise as a result of heavy rainfall during Thursday 3 December. Flooding of roads and low lying land is a possibility at any location near the river around Bethersden, Smarden, Headcorn and Yalding, and this is expected between 11:00 pm on Thursday 3 December and Friday evening. Peak levels will be similar to the flooding on 16 November 2020 and will not reach Yalding until Friday evening. The internal flooding of properties is not expected at this point. We currently expect river levels to stabilise overnight into Friday but may rise again over the weekend with more wet weather due on Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are clearing trash screens and checking on river structures. Please take care near the river and on flooded roads.

The weather is expected to remain largely dry today but with a few isolated heavy showers possible. Christmas Day, 25 December 2019 is expected to remain dry.
Further rainfall is possible on Boxing Day, 26 December 2019 but we are not currently anticipating any significant impacts. We continue to monitor the weather and river conditions closely as the catchments remain very responsive.

River levels remain high in response to heavy rainfall during Tuesday and Wednesday. The peak level has now occurred at Smarden and Headcorn and the peak will reach Stile Bridge late morning today, Thursday 28th November. The peak level has been observed in Yalding but all rivers will remain high throughout the day. Flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the rivers, particularly around Headcorn, Staplehurst and Hunton will continue today, Thursday 28th November. Flooding of properties is not currently expected but we are monitoring the situation. Further light showers are forecast this evening, before a period of more settled weather conditions on Friday. Please avoid walking along low-lying farmland or footpaths near the watercourses. This message will be updated or the Flood Alert removed by 8pm on Thursday 28th November 2019.

Flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the rivers, particularly in rural areas around Headcorn and Staplehurst, is expected to continue. River levels in many places are expected to peak later this evening on Wednesday 27/11/19. Flooding of properties is not currently expected but we are monitoring the situation closely. Flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the rivers, particularly in rural areas around Headcorn and Staplehurst, is expected throughout the day today. River levels in many places are expected to continue to rise throughout the day and remain high until Thursday morning, 28/11/19.
