A band of rain has now moved across South Yorkshire with scattered showers forecast during the morning of Friday 15th November. The River Don has risen in response to the rain and is forecast to peak at around 09:00, although levels are not expected to result in further overtopping of rivers banks and defences. River levels in the Lower Don have fallen through today. Rain is falling across the South Yorkshire catchment and is forecast to continue until approximately 22:00 this evening, Thursday 14/11/2019, this will be followed by showers overnight into tomorrow, Friday 15/11/2019. There is reduced floodplain capacity and given the wet ground conditions, we expect the River Don and its main inflows to rise later today and into 15 November although levels are not currently forecast to result in further overtopping of rivers banks and defences. We are seeing a band of rain move across South Yorkshire today (14/11/2019), with showers continuing overnight.
