River levels are forecast to peak around 9:00am tomorrow 15th November and the peak is expected to be lower than those seen on the 7th and 8th of November. Further scattered showers are expected into Friday morning. Due to the rainfall and the large amounts of water still in the low lying areas of the catchment, this flood warning will remain in force. We continue to support the coordinated multi‐agency response and our incident room is open 24/7. This morning, Thursday, 14th November, we are seeing a band of rain to start to move across South Yorkshire, followed by showers overnight and into tomorrow. River levels on Ea Beck have been high but steady and we have now received reports of the Ea beck overtopping into Thorpe Marsh today (9/11/19). Flooding of property is imminent. Areas most at risk are Thorpe Marsh and Almholme.
Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast and our incident room is open. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated in 20:30, or as the situation changes.
The weather should mainly be dry for Saturday and Sunday with no significant rain is forecast on these days, but river levels will remain high until today.
