Flood Warning issued on 21 Jan 2018 11:20
River Mole
River levels are showing a fast rate of rise at the present on this river reach. This is in response to heavy rainfall overnight and through this morning. Approximately 20mm of rain has fallen in the catchment for this river in the last two hours.
A frontal weather system is currently passing over the North Devon Area and catchments are already quite saturated. This means that all rivers are currently sensitive to rainfall. The majority of heavy rain should clear from this area, and the Devon Catchments, by 6pm tonight. However, it is anticipated that rivers may still remain high or continue to rise beyond this time.
There is likely to be standing water in low lying roads and care should be taken when driving.
The Environment Agency will continue to monitor river levels and update this message as the situation changes.
