Langstone Harbour, The Solent
Monday afternoon's tide at 12:00 on 10/02/2020 is higher than normal due to Storm Ciara, which brings South Westerly Gale Force 8 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.6 m. The total forecast tide is 5.44 metres Chart Datum (2.71 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide and waves are more likely to cause overtopping into beach facing gardens at Bembridge Drive, Meath Close, The Strand and Southwood Road. It may also cause road flooding at Southwood Road. A small number of properties could experience flood impacts. At 00:30 on 11/02/2020‚ the tide level is much lower, but may still cause minor impact flooding. We'll issue further advice tomorrow. We continue to monitor the forecast, and will ensure that tidal defence gates at Eastoke are closed. If you have flood protection, please install it 1 hour before high tide. We will update this message by 16:00 on 10/02/2020.
