Wednesday morning's tide at 10:18 on 07/11/2018 and 12:12 on 7/11/2018 is higher than normal as unsettled weather brings strong southerly force 7 winds. Levels will be similar to those recorded in January this year. For an hour either side of high water, flooding will affect; the boat yards at Bursledon, Quay at Hamble, Rising Sun car park at Warsash, lower floor level at Eling Tide Mill, Magazine Lane and footpaths at Riverside Park. The weather increases tide table values by 0.48 m (surge) giving a forecast tide of 5.18 metres Chart Datum (2.44 mAOD) at Southampton (although tide levels could peak 10cm higher than this). Tide levels remain high over the next few days but further impacts are not expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Priory Road, residents may wish to install flood protection as a precaution. This message will be removed by 07/11/2018 16:00:00 as further significant impacts are not expected.

Tomorrow lunchtime the tide will be similar to the one experienced at lunchtime today. Water levels will be high at the boat yards at Bursledon and it may come close to lower floor level at Eling Tide Mill. Property protection products could be installed in St Denys as a precaution. Forecast tide levels are decreasing after tomorrow lunchtime so this Flood Alert will be removed by 18:00 on 04/01/2018. The forecast tide is just below Flood Alert threshold but has been issued because it is possible the tide will peak closer to the 5.2 mCD threshold. At time of high tide water levels will be high at the boat yards at Bursledon and it may come close to lower floor level at Eling Tide Mill. Tide levels are lower for the tide forecast at 23:52 tonight but tomorrow lunchtime at 12:11, are currently forecast to be similar to today. This Flood Alert will be updated by 16:00 on 03/01/2018. On Saturday, Storm Brian brings strong winds, large waves and water levels higher than a normal high spring tide. The tide may impact the boat yards around Bursledon and may come close to the floor level at Eling Tide Mill. Property protection could be installed at St Denys as a precautionary measure. This Flood Alert will be removed around 1600hrs on 21/10/2017 when coastal conditions will have returned to normal.
