Heavy rain fell in the Witham catchment over the last 48 hours. River levels have responded and will continue to remain very high throughout today, Monday 8th February and for the next few days. Forecast for today Monday, 8th Feb is for snow. River levels are approaching record highs in places and we are aware of overtopping and seepage through flood banks. We expect flooding of low lying land in the Car Dyke and Billinghay Skirth area and there remains the risk of potential breach in this flood warning area due to continued loading of flood banks and scouring from overtopping. We have undertaken sandbagging at lower spots. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. River levels have responded and will continue to remain very high throughout today Sunday 7th February and for the next few days with further rainfall forecast tomorrow. River levels are approaching record highs in places and we are already seeing overtopping and seepage through flood banks. Specifically we are seeing overtopping on Billinghay Skirth between Billinghay and North Kyme, and expect flooding of low lying land in the area. We also expect to see flooding on Causeway Road. We have undertaken sandbagging at lower spots and we are monitoring the situation very closely. We will reissue this flood warning if we anticipate flooding of properties.
