Flood Warning issued on 28 Oct 2019 19:56
Helpringham Beck , Scredington Beck, Swaton Eau
Heavy rain during Saturday has resulted in high levels in the South Forty Foot catchment. The river levels are slowly starting to fall, but it may take another day or two until they drop back down to safe levels. The lock gates at Black Sluice have been opened to aid river discharge in between high tides. The high river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads near to the river, and we expect isolated properties along the South Forty Foot river to continue to be affected. Low lying properties near the South Forty Foot river are most at risk. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated Tuesday morning, 29 October, or as the situation changes.
