This Flood Alert is for coastal flooding.
Some coastal flooding issues are likely in the next few days due to a combination of high astronomical tides and stormy weather. The most likely impacts are flooding to low-lying land and roads but some property flooding could occur.
In areas exposed to the strong winds, impacts from wave overtopping are also possible. The time of highest risk is likely to be periods of high tide on Sunday at approximately 11:30 and later again at 23:30 (Lerwick). The greatest risk looks to be the Sunday evening tide.

This Flood Alert is for coastal flooding.
Some coastal flooding issues are likely in the next few days due to a combination of high astronomical tides and stormy weather. The most likely impacts are flooding to low-lying land and roads but some property flooding could occur.
In areas exposed to the strong winds, impacts from wave overtopping are also possible. The time of highest risk is likely to be periods of high tide on Sunday at approximately 10:30 and later again at 22:30 (Lerwick). The greatest risk looks to be the Sunday evening tide.

On Saturday and Sunday, a combination of high tides, surge and strong winds means that flooding to coastal areas could occur. The main areas likely to be affected are low-lying coastal areas, and impacts are most likely around the time of high tide. Potential impacts could include flooding of low-lying land and roads, and disruption to travel. At Lerwick, high tide is around 14:00 on Saturday, and 02:00 and 14:30 on Sunday.
