Flood Alert issued on 16 Aug 2022 21:15
Car Brook
There are heavy localised showers in and around the Sheffield area. The showery weather is forecast to continue for a couple of hours. As a result we are seeing a response in some of the smaller watercourses with levels rising, sometimes rapidly.
Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible from 21:00 today, 16/08/2022. Areas most at risk are Parkland and sports fields which are expected to flood. There is also a risk form localised flooding due to surface water.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please do not walk or drive through flood water and be aware rivers could rise very quickly even if it's not raining where you are.
This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 17/08/2022, or as the situation changes.
Flood Alert issued on 16 Feb 2020 03:29
Car Brook
Following recent rainfall which has left the ground saturated, river levels are now rising as a result of Storm Dennis. Flooding of low-lying roads and farmland is possible overnight into Sunday and beyond.
Intermittent rainfall is expected to continue overnight into Sunday morning. The current forecast indicates that the river response is likely to peak early on Sunday morning, 16 February, at levels significantly lower than those seen during Storm Ciara last weekend.
We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying land that may be flooded. Please see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast, and for weather forecasts please see the Met Office. This message will be updated at 11:30 or as the situation changes.

Car Brook
Heavy rainfall associated with Storm Dennis is forecast from midday today, 15 February 2020.
Due to the flashy nature of the Sheffield Car Brook we are issuing this flood alert in case the area is impacted by the heaviest rainfall totals.
Because of the already saturated ground, river levels would be likely to rise rapidly.
We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. If you observe flooding, please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near watercourses. Please also plan driving routes to avoid low lying land that may be flooded. Please see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast and for weather forecasts please see the Met Office. This message will be updated at 21:45 or as the situation changes.
