River levels in the Eden at Haxted have started to fall, and will continue to drop through Tuesday morning. River levels around and downstream of Edenbridge are still rising slightly and are expected to peak between 5am and 8am. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected, but we do not expect any flooding of properties. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this message as the situation develops.

River levels in the Eden at Haxted are high, but have now peaked and will slowly fall through the night. River levels around and downstream of Edenbridge will continue to rise steadily through the night, and are expected to peak between 4am and 7am on Tuesday morning. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected, but flooding of properties is not expected. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this message on Tuesday morning.

River levels have risen significantly in the Upper Eden catchment today, Monday 30 April. Flooding of low lying land and some roads is likely. Levels will remain high at Edenbridge this evening and continue to rise overnight towards Penshurst. Rain will ease during the evening leaving a dry night. Tuesday 1 May will be mainly dry. We do not expect flooding of property but will continue to monitor the situation.

River levels on the Upper Eden are rising in response to heavy persistent rainfall overnight and during today, Monday the 30th of April. Flooding of low lying land and roads is likely today around Lingfield, Haxted Mill and on other local tributaries and watercourses. Water levels are expected to peak later this evening and overnight into Tuesday the 1st of May. The heavy rain should ease and clear eastwards during Monday night leaving a largely dry day on Tuesday. With this intensity of rainfall continuing through the day, surface water flooding in localised areas is possible. Please be careful in areas close to the river channel and be aware of your surroundings. We have staff monitoring river levels closely and will update this message later this afternoon.

This Flood Alert is issued in anticipation of heavy rain forecast through Monday 30 April. Water levels are likely to rise in the Eden catchment. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible during Monday morning rush hour, particularly in the Lingfield and Haxted Mill areas. River levels may rise in the Edenbridge area throughout Monday 30 April. Surface water flooding is also likely. Rain is forecast throughout Monday and not expected to clear until Tuesday 1 May. Flooding of property is not expected at this stage. We will continue to monitor river levels and update this message if the situation changes.

This Flood Alert is issued in anticipation of heavy rain forecast overnight on Sunday 29 April and into Monday 30 April. Water levels are likely to rise overnight in the Eden catchment. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible during Monday morning rush hour, particularly in the Lingfield and Haxted Mill areas. River levels may continue to rise in the Edenbridge area throughout Monday 30 April. Surface water flooding is also likely. Further rain is forecast throughout Monday and not expected to clear until Tuesday 1 May. Flooding of property is not expected at this stage. We will continue to monitor river levels and update this message if the situation changes.

Overnight rain on Wednesday into Thursday has raised river levels. Before they fall back down an intense pulse of rain is forecast in the early hours of Friday morning. It is likely that this will cause low lying land and roads to flood around dawn.

River levels on the Eden and Eden Brook have remained high throughout today, Saturday 30 December, in response to rain seen yesterday and through the night last night. We expect to see another band of rain pass over the area tonight and into Sunday 31 December which could cause river levels to rise once more. Please be careful in areas close to the river channel and be aware of your surroundings. We have staff monitoring river levels and will update this message tomorrow, Sunday 31 December.

River levels on the Eden and Eden Brook have risen quickly today in response to heavy rainfall seen this morning, Friday 29 December 2017. River levels will remain high throughout this evening and with further rainfall forecasted for tonight, river levels will remain high into Saturday 30 December, peaking during the morning. Flooding of low lying land and areas close to the river channel is expected, however property flooding is not expected at this time. Please remain safe in the areas of concern. We have duty staff constantly monitoring river levels and have staff ready to remove any blockages which may occur in the river channel. This message will be updated on the morning of Saturday 30 December or sooner if conditions change.

River levels on the Eden and Eden Brook have risen in response to the rainfall seen today, Wednesday 27 December, and will continue to remain high throughout this evening and into Thursdayday 28 December. We are continuing to monitor the situation, but with a dry day forecasted for Thursday 28 December we anticipate river levels falling to a more normal level by Thursday afternoon. Friday 29 December and into the weekend may see further showers and we will monitor the situation closely and re-issue flood alerts if necessary. This message will be updated on the morning of Thursday 28 December.

River levels on the Eden are high in response to heavy rainfall overnight. Further rainfall is expected this morning which will clear through the afternoon. River levels will remain high throughout the day, with levels on the Eden expected to peak later this evening in Edenbridge. Flooding is expected to low lying land, fields and roads during this time. Flooding on Haxted Road and Water Lane in Haxted is expected. Thursday will be more settled but further rain is expected later this week. We are monitoring the situation closely and we do not currently expect property flooding to happen.

The Rivers Eden and Eden Brook remain high in response to the rainfall seen during the last two days. River levels peaked at Haxted Mill at 6pm and are expected to peak at Edenbridge at around 10pm this evening. Flooding of low lying land close to the river channel is possible. Flooding of properties is not expected. The weather is expected to remain largely dry overnight and throughout the day on Tuesday. River levels are expected to fall overnight and this flood alert is likely to be removed by 10am on Tuesday morning.

The main areas of concern are at Haxted Mill and Edenbridge where we anticipate that levels will get particularly high. Levels will reach their highest throughout the evening and overnight. Flooding of low lying land close to the river channel is possible during this period. Flooding of properties is not currently expected and we do not anticipate issuing a Flood Warning. River levels have risen steadily in response to further rainfall late Wednesday evening. River levels are expected to remain high for a time, but we do not anticipate any further significant rainfall so they should start to fall later today. Our officers are continuing to monitor the forecast and river levels, and we will issue a further update this afternoon.

During the morning and afternoon of Wednesday 9th August, the Eden catchment received in excess of 40mm of rainfall. This has caused the river levels to rise rapidly, and with further rainfall expected this evening, flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river channel is possible, particularly in the Haxted Mill area. Surface water flooding in the area is also possible, and may cause dangerous driving conditions. We expect river levels to remain high into Thursday, where we will then see levels start to recede. We are continuing to monitor the forecast and river levels, and officers are on standby ready to respond to any blockages that may occur in the river channel.
