Flood Alert issued on 6 Feb 2021 15:24
Loxwood Stream
The River Lox has returned to more normal levels. A small amount of rain (about 5mm) is forecast from 18:00 Saturday evening, to be followed by snow during the early hours of Sunday. River levels will rise again. How high depends of the proportion of rain and snow. More snow would mean less river rise. If we mostly receive rain, and less snow, then by Sunday afternoon river levels could possibly rise to the height they were on Friday. In the scenario with more rain, minor flood impacts could be possible. Small amounts of water could affect fields, rural roads and gardens, including near properties close to Brewhurst Mill on Brewhurst Lane, and the Onslow Arms, Loxwood. Only small amounts of rain are forecast Monday to Wednesday, which should help to reduce risk of flooding. Please continue to operate private water control structures to reduce the risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 13:00 07/02/2021.

Flood Alert issued on 5 Feb 2021 17:16
Loxwood Stream
The River Lox is still high following Thursday's rain. Minor flood impacts will continue until Saturday afternoon, with small amounts of water affecting fields, rural roads and gardens, including near properties close to Brewhurst Mill on Brewhurst Lane, and the Onslow Arms, Loxwood. River levels are now falling, and should continue to lower, as only small amounts of rain are forecast Friday evening. However, heavy showers are possible Saturday afternoon, which could cause river levels to rise again. Precipitation is predicted to turn to snow Saturday evening and Sunday. We will provide an updated weather forecast and assessment of the risk of flooding Saturday afternoon. If rain becomes more likely than snow on Sunday, then minor flood impacts could persist through to Monday. Please continue to operate private water control structures to reduce the risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 16:00 06/02/2021.

Flood Alert issued on 5 Feb 2021 07:38
Loxwood Stream
The River Lox is high and rising, following 15mm of heavy rain Thursday afternoon and evening. From 09:00 Friday 05/02/2021, minor flooding could affect fields, rural roads, gardens along the length of the River Lox and approach properties near Brewhurst Mill on Brewhurst Lane, and the Onslow Arms, Loxwood. The river is predicted to rise only another 20 to 30 cm. Friday is forecast to be mostly dry, which should allow the river to begin to fall by 16:00 05/02/2021. However, more precipitation is forecast for Saturday, it is currently uncertain whether this will fall as snow. If conditions are warm enough for rain, then river levels will remain higher than normal through the weekend and could potentially rise higher Saturday evening into Sunday. Minor flood impacts could persist through to Monday. Please operate private water control structures to reduce the risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 19:00 05/02/2021.

Loxwood Stream
River levels are near normal on the Lox, following a relatively dry night. A few rain showers are possible Wednesday, but not the large amounts of rain we have previously forecast. River levels will rise a small amount Wednesday, but we do not currently think river levels will rise significantly, or higher than they have been in recent days. From 19:00 23/12/2020, minimal flood impacts could be possible, affecting fields, gardens and rural roads. Thursday to Saturday should stay mostly dry, which will allow river levels to peak by Thursday and return to near normal by Friday. We will update this message by 15:00 24/12/2020 or sooner if the risk of flooding increases significantly.

Loxwood Stream
River levels on the Loxwood Stream are now falling. With Tuesday afternoon and overnight being predominantly dry, river levels should continue to slowly fall until Wednesday. Minor flood impacts will slowly ease, but water in fields and gardens and on rural roads might remain. The weather forecast for Wednesday is uncertain. It looks like it will rain, and river levels will rise. But we are not sure how high. It is possible a lot of rain could fall Wednesday, with the potential to cause significant flooding, all along the Lox, and possibly in Loxwood Village. Flood impacts could last until Friday. Please continue to operate private water control structures to help manage water levels and reduce the risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message with details about Wednesday, by 14:00 23/12/2020.

Flooding could affect fields, rural roads and gardens along the length of the river Lox. River levels are unlikely to peak until 04:00 22/12/2020. Please operate private water control structures to help manage water levels and reduce the risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 15:00 22/12/2020, or sooner if river levels look like they could rise to affect properties.

Flood Alert issued on 20 Dec 2020 18:55
Loxwood Stream
The Lox is high but stable and slowly falling, following the intermittent rain of the past few days. Light rain from 00:00 Monday until Monday afternoon will cause the river to rise again. If as much rain falls as predicted, flooding could affect fields, rural roads, gardens along the length of the river Lox and from 15:00 21/12/2020 potentially approach properties near Brewhurst Mill on Brewhurst Lane and the Onslow Arms, Loxwood. The river is unlikely to peak until the early hours of Tuesday. But with heavy rain also possible Monday evening and Wednesday, flood risk could persist or even increase over the week ahead. Please operate private water control structures to help manage water levels and reduce the risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 15:00 21/12/2020.
