The river levels on the River Don will continue to rise and will peak around midnight. The peak of the river level will be slightly higher as to yesterdays (Friday). The river level will be close to the top of the flood bank at the football fields upstream of the B993.
Aberdeenshire Council is operating a rest centre at Inverurie Community Campus. Further details are available on their website.

River levels on the River Don remain high, and despite a slight drop in height overnight, river levels will rise again on Saturday morning in response to further heavy rain. Peaks are forecast to be similar, or potentially higher, than today. The river level will be close to the top of the flood bank at the football fields upstream of the B993.

Storm Babet continues to bring heavy and persistent rainfall to NE Scotland. The River Don is starting to rise and will continue to rise throughout Thursday night. By the early hours of Friday morning the river level will be close to the top of the flood bank at the football fields upstream of the B993. Rivers will continue to rise throughout Friday morning and are currently forecast to peak around midday Friday.

The Severe Flood Warning for this area has been reduced to a Flood Warning as conditions have improved in this area through Saturday morning. River levels remain high and there are residual flood impacts from Fridays heavy rain. Further rainfall is forecast to affect the area overnight Saturday into Sunday which may cause levels to rise again, but not to those levels seen earlier.

An updated SEVERE FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Inverurie.
This means that extensive flooding is expected to properties and businesses including those in Port Elphinstone, along Old Canal, and Inverurie Paper Mill. The Waste Water Treatment Works and railway line will also be significantly affected. Many roads, including the B993, will be impassable in and around Inverurie. River levels are currently peaking and will stay high for some time before dropping back through Saturday. River levels are expected to be slightly higher than January 2016. Be aware that flooding impacts will also extend up the River Urie. Take action now. Stay away from flood water and do not take unnecessary risks.

Persistent heavy rainfall last night and into Friday is causing river levels on the River Don to rise. Properties in Port Elphinstone along Old Canal, the WWTW, the railway line and Inverurie Paper Mill are at risk of flooding. The flood bank may be at risk of failure. Flooding of the B993 (Keith-Hall Road) may affect properties and flood water will restrict access to Inverurie by this route. Levels will remain high throughout Friday and into Saturday.
