While surface water impacts are likely to occur mainly on Tuesday, impacts from rivers are likely to continue after the rain clears, and into Wednesday, as rivers continue to respond. Potential impacts could include flooding of low-lying land and roads, isolated flooding of individual properties, and localised disruption to travel.

This alert is for fluvial (river) and coastal flooding.
Heavy and persistent rain will affect the West Highlands from Friday night and throughout Saturday. High tides along with surge and wave action will also affect coastal areas throughout the weekend and into Monday.
Inland, this may lead to localised flooding from surface water, small watercourses and larger rivers, with the high flows on the larger rivers continuing into Sunday. Coastal areas are at risk from wave overtopping and strong winds, particularly in regions exposed to the southwest.
