Flood Alert issued on 26 May 2018 19:46
River Lambourn, Great Shefford Stream, Winterbourne Stream
Property flooding is not currently expected. Water levels on the River Lambourn have been slowly rising over the past few weeks in response to high groundwater levels in the area and remain high and responsive to further rainfall. The forecast is for heavy showers overnight and through Sunday. There is uncertainty around where these showers will occur but if they fall on the Lambourn catchment it is likely that river levels will rise further. Therefore levels are expected to continue to rise tonight and flooding of low lying land and roads is possible. We are constantly monitoring river levels. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, flood waters may be deep and fast flowing. Please refer to river levels on the internet for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning (27/5/18)
