Large and powerful waves are expected to overtop sea defences as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Please stay away from large waves as they are dangerous. The time and date of the first forecast high water is 21:30 on 30/09/2019. The forecast tide level is 8.38m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 6 West South West. The time and date of the second forecast high water is 09:45 on 01/10/2019. The forecast tide level is 8.10mAOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 4 North Westerly. Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Strong onshore winds will cause tide levels to rise further. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closing locks and flood gates.
