A large tidal surge is expected to affect the foreshore as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. The time and date of the forecast high water is 21:24 on 30/09/2019. The forecast tide level is 8.42 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 6 west south westerly. The time and date of the second forecast high water is 09:47 on 01/10/2019. The forecast tide level is 8.09 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 4 south south westerly. Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Flooding is possible for the coastline, roads, farmland and tidal areas between Portishead Point and Avonmouth.. Be careful as conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. Waves are forecast to overtop sea defences with sea spray expected as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. The time and date of the first forecast high water is 20:45 on 29/09/2019. The forecast tide level is 8.17 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 5 westerly. The time and date of the second forecast high water is 09:15 on 30/09/2019. The forecast tide level is 8.06 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 4 southerly. Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Flooding to roads and farmland is possible at these times, however conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Spring-tide levels are now reducing but remain high following their peak on Sunday. The time and date of the forecast high water is 22:30 on 02/09/2019. The forecast tide level is 7.85 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 5 westerly. Coastal conditions should ease for the high tide at 11:00 on 03/09/2019. Please note all tide times are in local time using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Flooding is possible at these times and may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. Large waves are not expected however we believe there is a possibility of flooding for the coastline between Portishead Point and Avonmouth. We are monitoring the situation closely and have teams out checking defences and conditions on the ground. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 03/09/2019, or as the situation changes.

The current sequence of high spring tides reaches its peak this evening. The time and date of the forecast high water is 21:45 on 01/09/2019. The forecast tide level is 7.93 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 3 west north westerly. Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Flooding is possible at this time and conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for the coastline between Portishead Point and Avonmouth this evening. Coastal conditions should ease following tonight's tide but please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. We are monitoring the situation closely and have incident response staff out checking defences and conditions on the ground. The current spring tides will peak tonight and will then fall during the subsequent tides. Gentle wind strength with small waves are expected and there may be some minor flooding. The current spring tide sequence continues and is forecast to reach flood alert level at Portishead and Portbury Dock this evening, Thursday 21/02/2019, and again tomorrow morning, Friday 22/02/2019. Overtopping and onshore flooding may occur as a result of high water levels, affecting low lying land and roads. We are closely monitoring the situation and our staff are checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, harbour and dock areas and coastal routes. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on local media. The time of the first high water is 20:52 today and the time of the second high water is 09:09 tomorrow. The wind is forecast to be Force 3 Southerly this evening and Force 2 Easterly in the morning. The spring tide high water levels will peak tomorrow morning and we will be updating this tidal flood alert each day. The current period of spring tides is forecast to reach flood alert level at Portishead and Portbury Dock tomorrow morning, Thursday 21/02/2019. Overtopping and onshore flooding may occur as a result of high water levels, affecting low lying land and roads. We are closely monitoring the situation and our staff are checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, dock areas and coastal routes. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on local media. The time of the high water is 08:30 tomorrow morning, Thursday 21/02/2019. The wind is forecast to be Force 3 and from a generally Southerly direction. The spring tide sequence will carry on this week along the coastline generally. We will continue to assess the situation to see whether further tides are likely to reach alert level at Portishead and Portbury this week.
