Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the River Ray and Otmoor watercourses as a result of recent rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying land, roads and property is expected later this morning 2/1/24, especially in areas closest to the river in Murcott including Pigeonhouse Lane and Ferncott Road, and in Ambrosden including Marsh Road and Ambrosden Close. Peak levels are expected to be lower than the flooding in November 2019. Further rainfall which may be heavy at times is forecast through this morning (2/1/24) with lighter rain into this afternoon. Unsettled conditions are expected for the remainder of the week. We expect river levels to rise until this evening 2/1/24 before stabilising. Levels may rise again in response to further rainfall.
