Hundred Foot Washes
River levels are rising and will remain high at the Earith river gauge as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property/roads and farmland is expected. We expect flooding to affect the A1123 causeway at Earith. This information is correct as of 16:30 pm on Friday 25th December. The causeway at Earith has approximately 20cm of water on the road. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and liaising with Cambridgeshire Highways, who will decide whether to close the road. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
