River levels are rising at the Shrewbridge river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding to properties is expected. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for riverside land from Beam Bridge to the railway and some properties on Welsh Row and Holland Walk. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours.
Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further flood warnings if necessary.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation.

River levels have continued to rise at the Shrewbridge river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding remains expected for riverside land. We do not expect further significant rainfall today and we currently expect river levels to peak overnight. However, river levels will remain high until Sunday (27/10/2019). Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further updates if necessary. We expect the flood warning threshold will be reached around lunchtime. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for riverside land.
