Storm Bert is expected to bring snow on Saturday morning, however this will turn to rain in the afternoon and any fresh build up of snow will melt. The combination of rain and snow melt will cause river levels to rise through the afternoon and overnight into Sunday. Some localised watercourse flooding impacts are possible and there is also a risk of surface water flooding during this period. Typical impacts include localised flooding to low-lying land and roads and isolated property flooding is also possible. The next highest water levels are expected between Friday evening and early Saturday morning. Further disruption is possible on Sunday evening. Furthermore, a period of heavy rain on Friday evening and night could cause flooding impacts from rivers and surface water, especially in the south of Aberdeenshire. On Tuesday afternoon, and overnight into Wednesday, a period of persistent and occasionally heavy rain, and a thaw of lying hill snow, could lead to localised flooding impacts and transport disruption from rivers, small watercourses and surface water. The highest risk is in the west of the area and areas within the Cairngorms National Park.
Typical impacts could include

This is a Coastal Flood Alert
On Wednesday and Thursday, there is a risk of coastal flooding due to a combination of high tides, surge and wave action, resulting in high water levels and some wave overtopping along the Aberdeenshire and Aberden City coastline. Low-lying properties, roads, and railways that are exposed to the coast are at risk at times of high tide during this period, with the first notable high tide expected around 14:00 on Wednesday but the highest expected at 15:00 on Thursday

While river levels are now receding, they are expected to remain high during Sunday. There may be ongoing localised flooding, primarily of land and roads, with local disruption to travel and difficult driving conditions possible.
