Flooding is expected later this evening Monday 1 February and into the early hours of Tuesday. River levels have dropped throughout the day, but are expected to rise again in response to the forecast rainfall this evening.
A band of heavy rainfall is now tracking across the area from the west, which is due to clear by 11pm. River levels are expected to respond and rise above Flood Warning criteria. Peak river level is expected around midnight and will continue to remain high for several hours.
A recently completed flood defence scheme will provide increased flood protection to properties in Helston, however a residual risk of flooding remains.
Flooding is expected to properties, low lying land and roads close to the river. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor local conditions. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages. This message will be updated on Tuesday morning or earlier if the situation changes.

Further flooding is expected during this evening Monday 1 February and into the early hours of Tuesday morning. River levels are now dropping but are expected to rise again in response to forecast rainfall from 6pm until midnight.
Further heavy frontal rainfall is expected from the west this evening which will push river levels back above Flood Warning criteria. Levels are predicted to be higher than those observed during the last 24 hours. Peak river level is expected at 3am.
