Flooding is expected later this evening Monday 1 February and into the early hours of Tuesday. River levels have dropped throughout the day, but are expected to rise again in response to the forecast rainfall this evening. A band of heavy rainfall is now tracking across the area from the west, which is due to clear by 11pm. River levels are expected to respond and rise above Flood Warning criteria. Peak river level is expected around midnight and will continue to remain high for several hours. A recently completed flood defence scheme will provide increased flood protection to properties in Helston, however a residual risk of flooding remains.
