High river levels are causing flooding today. Heavy rainfall has caused river levels to rise. River levels have now peaked on the River Fowey, but remain high. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Coulson Park, the Sewage Treatment Works, Lostwithiel Railway Station, Quay Street, and properties along The Parade. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. We are closely monitoring the situation. Flooding is expected on 26 January 2026 into 27 January 2026 Heavy rainfall has caused river levels to rise, with further bands of heavy rain forecast overnight and into Tuesday morning. Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 22:00 on Monday 26 January 2026. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Coulson Park, the Sewage Treatment Works, Lostwithiel Railway Station, Quay Street, and properties along The Parade. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 5am and 7am. We are closely monitoring the situation . Heavy rain falling in the area over Thursday daytime has caused the River Fowey to rise, and the river is forecast to continue rising through the day. Properties and low-lying areas will start to flood first from around 3.30pm today. River levels will be at their highest between 4pm and 6pm. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the day.
