Highest tide level is expected at 2:15 AM on 21/10/2024. Flooding is possible several hours either side of this time.
Areas most at risk include beachfront properties at Coulderton, Nethertown and Braystones. Low lying properties at Saltcoats, Ravenglass, A595 at Muncaster Mill Bridge and the Esk Estuary.
We are closing flood gates at Ravenglass.

Today, 18/02/2022, Lunchtime's tide at 12:30 PM is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice bring storm force winds, large waves, and spray overtopping on the coast. Large waves and spray overtopping are forecast to cause flooding and damage along the coast at Seascale, Ravenglass, Saltcoats, Haverigg. Vulnerable properties along the foreshore at Braystones, Nethertown and Coulderton are susceptible to these conditions. Impacts are possible 2 hours either side of high tide forecast, at 12:30 PM. We do not expect to see similar impacts for tonight’s high tide, but further unsettled weather is forecast, as a result we may issue further alerts and warnings over the next 2 to 3 days. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 11:45 PM tonight, 16/02/22. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time. Storm Dudley is forecast to bring strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast overnight tonight and vulnerable properties along the foreshore at Braystones, Nethertown and Coulderton are susceptible to these conditions. With further unsettled conditions and Storm Eunice forecast, we are expecting higher than normal tides over the next 3 to 4 days and as a result we are likely to issue further alerts and warnings. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. We will continue to monitor the situation and reissue this warning if necessary. This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 1:40am on 08/12/2021. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time.
Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the stormy conditions associated with Storm Barra, this may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast.
Properties on the foreshore at Braystones, Nethertown and Coulderton are at risk.
Forecasts indicate further warnings may be issued for the lunchtime tide on Wednesday.

This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 11:00 AM on 04/12/2021. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time.
Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. The forecast is for strong winds throughout the day. This may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast this morning. Properties on the foreshore at Braystones, Nethertown and Coulderton are at risk.
We do not expect to see similar impacts for this evening's or tomorrow's high tides.
