River Eden
River levels are forecast to rise at the Great Corby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall on the Pennines and the upper River Eden at Appleby only peaking at a high level in the last few hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains to properties at Warwick Park, Holme Eden Gardens, the A69 and Down A Gate Community Centre areas.
Further showers are forecast this evening and overnight with the bulk of the heavy rain clearing to the east.
We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services.
Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.

River Eden
River levels have risen at the Great Corby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property/roads and farmland is expected to begin between 14:00 and 15:00 today, Sunday 09/02/2020. Warwick Park, Holme Eden Gardens, the A69 and Down A Gate Community Centre areas. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing, and therefore pose a risk to life.
Heavy rainfall is giving way to showers and we expect river levels to rise until this evening and begin to peak We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services.
Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety.
