River levels have risen at the Station Road Innovia, Wigton river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding (of property) is imminent. Flooding is expected to affect properties in the Burnfoot area, including the School, Church, Convent, Strand Terrace, Accrington Terrace, Eastley Terrace and Printfield. Further rainfall is forecast overnight. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and clearing debris screens. Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen at the Station Road Innovia, Wigton river gauge and Wiza storage basin as a result of heavy rainfall and are forecast to rise further. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible after 05:30 this morning Tuesday 1st October. Properties in the Burnfoot area, including the School, Church, Convent, Strand Terrace, Accrington Terrace, Eastley Terrace and Printfield are likely to be affected.
We expect river levels to remain high during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water. Rain is forecast to continue during Tuesday morning but should move away during the afternoon.
