River levels are high on the Speet Gill due to heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk include properties in the Burnfoot area, including the School, Church, Convent, Strand Terrace, Accrington Terrace, Eastley Terrace and Printfield. River levels are expected to remain high and flooding of properties will continue, with further rainfall forecast this morning. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities. River levels have risen at the Station Road Innovia, Wigton river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding (of property) is imminent. Flooding is expected to affect properties in the Burnfoot area, including the School, Church, Convent, Strand Terrace, Accrington Terrace, Eastley Terrace and Printfield. Further rainfall is forecast overnight. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and clearing debris screens. Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
