River levels are forecast to peak in the next hour at the Linstock river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall overnight and into this morning. River levels are expected to remain above Flood Warning Level until around 18:30 this evening. Consequently the risk of flooding to low lying roads, car parks, public spaces and recreational facilities at Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf remains. Rainfall has now stopped and no further significant rain is expected until Thursday 3rd October. We expect river levels to return to normal levels by around 09:00 Wednesday 2nd October 2019.

River levels are expected to reach flood warning level between 12:00-13:00. Rainfall is forecast to stop during the afternoon. We expect river levels to rise until 16:00 on 01/10/19 and then begin to drop, falling below flood warning level around midnight. Following rainfall on Friday and throughout Saturday morning river levels have continued to rise, and with further rain forecast for Saturday afternoon levels will remain high. We are currently forecasting that the flood warning level will be reached at approximately 17:00. The current forecast is for levels to peak at 3.7m at 01:00 on 14/10/2018. Rainfall is forecast to continue throughout this evening and overnight, clearing around 4am tomorrow morning. River levels will continue to rise overnight and the River Eden is expected to reach the flood warning threshold at approximately 21:00 hours and will remain high until tomorrow morning.
