River levels have peaked at the Linstock river gauge but remain high. We are expecting River levels to fall throughout the day. Low lying roads, car parks, public spaces and recreational facilities at Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses will be affected. We are expecting some showers today but plenty of dry spells and becoming more settled. Rainfall totals expected are around 4 millimetres. Next week is looking a little drier with no further flooding impacts expected. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated in the afternoon of 17/03/19 or if the situation changes.

River Eden
River levels are forecast to rise at the Linstock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to begin at around 9pm today, 16/03/19. Low lying roads, car parks, public spaces and recreational facilities at Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses will be affected. Light showers are forecast overnight into Sunday morning. We expect river levels to peak just above the flood warning level at Linstock at around Midnight on 16/03/19. We do not expect any other flood warnings to be issued today for rivers in the Carlisle area. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated in the morning of 17/03/19 or if the situation changes.

River levels have risen at the Linstock river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible until the early hours of 13/03/19. Low lying roads, car parks, public spaces and recreational facilities at Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses will be affected. Further showers are forecast overnight with additional rainfall expected during the next few days. River levels have peaked and will slowly start to fall. We do not expect any other flood warnings to be issued today for rivers in the Carlisle area. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and clearing trash screens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated in the morning of 13/03/19, or as the situation changes.

River levels are forecast to rise at the Linstock river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to begin between 12:30 and 13:00 today, 12/03/19. Low lying roads, car parks, public spaces and recreational facilities at Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses will be affected. Further showers are forecast for the rest of the day, with further heavy rainfall and strong winds expected overnight into Wednesday morning. We expect river levels to peak just above the flood warning level at Linstock around 17:00 on 12/03/19. We do not expect any other flood warnings to be issued today for rivers in the Carlisle area. The River Eden is continuing to rise due to the rain experienced on Friday and Saturday and is due to peak at 3am on Sunday 14th October before dropping to normal levels at lunchtime. There are a few showers forecast on Sunday morning but no significant amount of rain is expected.

Following rainfall on Friday and throughout Saturday morning river levels have continued to rise, and with further rain forecast for Saturday afternoon levels will remain high. We are currently forecasting that the flood warning level will be reached at approximately 17:00. The current forecast is for levels to peak at 3.7m at 01:00 on 14/10/2018. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message if the situation changes.

Following recent rainfall, the level of the river Eden has peaked and is now falling however this still remains high. The weather should be mainly dry during the rest of today and will turn colder however we may experience some showers. We do not expect this rainfall to affect river levels. The River Eden continues to be above the flood warning threshold but we do not expect it to get much higher than its current level. Rainfall is forecast to continue throughout this evening and overnight, clearing around 4am tomorrow morning. River levels will continue to rise overnight and the River Eden is expected to reach the flood warning threshold at approximately 21:00 hours and will remain high until tomorrow morning. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update if the situation changes.
