Areas at risk are Devonshire Walk, West Coast Mainline, Bitts Park, Cricket Club and The Sheepmount. We expect river levels to remain high overnight and into Thursday morning. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have closed flood defences. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated at 12 noon, 23/05/2024,or as the situation changes.

River levels are high on the Rivers Eden and Caldew due to Storm Isha. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Rivers Eden and Caldew, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Devonshire Walk, West Coast Mainline, Bitts Park, Cricket Club and The Sheepmount. Flooding is affecting Devonshire Walk, West Coast Mainline, Bitts Park, Cricket Club and The Sheepmount from 9:30 AM on 22/01/2024. Further light rainfall is forecast throughout the morning. River levels are expected to remain high. We will continue to monitor river levels and weather conditions closely. Consider putting your flood plan into action. Areas at risk are Devonshire Walk, West Coast Mainline, Bitts Park, Cricket Club and The Sheepmount. We expect river levels to remain high this evening and overnight. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have closed flood defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
