River levels are high on the River Eamont due to heavy rainfall.
Areas most at risk include properties adjacent to the River Eamont at Eamont Bridge, including the Kemplay Foot, Skirsgill Lane and Southwaite Green Mill areas.
Flooding is expected at properties adjacent to the River Eamont at Eamont Bridge, including the Kemplay Foot, Skirsgill Lane and Southwaite Green Mill areas from 12:00 midnight on 22/01/2024.
Further rainfall is forecast overnight but the heaviest rainfall has now passed.
River levels are expected to remain high overnight into Monday morning.
We will continue to monitor levels closely.

River levels have risen at the Eamont Bridge Farm river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying land and roads is expected. Properties are at risk adjacent to the River Eamont at Eamont Bridge, including the Kemplay Foot, Skirsgill Lane and Southwaite Green Mill areas.
We expect river levels to remain high this evening and overnight
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses.

River Eamont
River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Eamont Bridge Farm river gauge. Consequently, the risk of flooding is reducing for properties adjacent to the River Eamont at Eamont Bridge, including the Kemplay Foot, Skirsgill Lane and Southwaite Green Mill areas We do not forecast the situation to deteriorate any further.
Further light rainfall is forecast this evening and overnight. River levels are falling and should no longer pose a flood risk to property in the Eamont Bridge, Frenchfield and Brougham areas
We continue to closely monitor the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
