Rain is expected to continue into the morning of Thursday 23 November. River levels remain high but are now starting to fall. The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation and will update this message as the situation changes.

Heavy rainfall overnight and this morning is forecast to continue through today and into the evening. River levels are rising and we forecast that the flood warning threshold will be reached at approximately 14:00 hours. River levels will continue to rise during the course of the day and are expected to peak during the evening. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update if the situation changes.

River Ehen
Heavy rain is currently falling in the West Lake catchment and river levels will continue to rise over the next few hours.
The main area of concerns are properties and low lying areas around the River Ehen at Egremont.
We are expecting the river to go through the flood warning threshold of 2.2 metres around 12:30pm today (Wednesday 11th October 2017) and the river will remain high until around 3pm.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing around this area. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
