Note that the night-time high tide tonight Monday 16/04/18 is not expected to reach flood alert level. Onshore flooding may occur to roads, and some properties along the coast may be affected. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast for the period between 11am and 3pm on Tuesday. Tides are high currently due to spring tides. We will continue to monitor the situation and reissue this alert for subsequent high tides if needed, however, at the moment we do not expect subsequent high tides to reach alert level. Detailed tidal information: The forecast high tide level is 5.03m AoD at Heysham, and 4.76m at Barrow. We forecast additional surge of approximately 0.5m

People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast for the period between 10am and 2pm. Tides are high currently due to spring tides. We will continue to monitor the situation and reissue this alert for subsequent high tides if needed. At the moment, Sunday night's high tide is not expected to reach alert level, but Monday lunchtime's tide may again exceed the alert threshold. Detailed tidal information: The forecast high tide level is 5.16m AoD at Heysham. We do not expect any additional surge or any significant additional wave impact. We forecast that the astronomical tide of 5.03m AOD at Barrow will have an additional surge of 0.5 metres and the astronomical tide of 5.36m AOD at Heysham will have an additional surge of 0.5 metres. High water can be expected for 2 hours before and after the peak. For conversion between AoD and local chart or port datums please check your tide tables. Locations likely to be affected are Roosebeck, Canal Foot, East Plain Farm, Arnside, Sandside. We currently forecast that the high tide at 00:26 a.m. at Barrow on 04/01/2018 will be 4.96 metres and at 00:21 a.m at Heysham on 04/01/2018 will be 5.28 metres AOD.

This flood alert has been issued for the high tide overnight on Wednesday 6th December into Thursday 7th December between 00:30am and 02:30am. Particular areas at risk are low lying land and roads around the Roosebeck, Canal Foot, Arnside and Sandside areas. During this period we could also experience some larger waves and some spray overtopping due to the forecast wind and rain. Tomorrow lunchtime’s tide on Thursday 7th December between 13:00pm and 15:00pm is also expected to be at Flood Alert but thereafter the forecast is that the high tide overnight into Friday will not reach flood alert. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this message as the forecasts change.

Onshore flooding may occur to roads, and some properties along the coast may be affected.  People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Environment Agency officers are on the ground ensuring defences are in good working order, monitoring sea levels and wind direction. Detailed tidal information for those who use it: The forecast high tide level is 5.65m AoD  at Heysham. This is 0.85 m above the astronomical tide level. The forecast high tide at Barrow is 5.35m AoD, which is 0.85m above the astronomical tide level. The location likely to be affected is Sandside. We currently forecast that subsequent tides will be below Flood Alert level.

Tidal spray and onshore flooding may occur to roads, and some properties along the coast in the Sandside area may be affected throughout the period between 11:55pm tonight, Tuesday and 1:55am Wednesday morning. Expect tides to be higher than usual. There will be a very slight negative surge reducing tide heights. We currently forecast that the high tide tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd August 2017 at 1pm will not reach Flood Alert levels, but the following high tide just after midnight on Wednesday night is expected to reach Flood Alert level. We will continue to monitor the situation and reissue this Alert for subsequent tides if required. Environment Agency staff have checked defences in the area. This Tidal Alert is issued for High Spring Tide at around 01:00 am, Sunday 28th May 2017. Tides are currently higher than normal. As a result of this some very localised flooding of low points on the road adjacent to the Kent Estuary between Sandside and Arnside and the lower part of the foreshore carpark at Arnside may be subject to flooding for a period of an hour or more prior to and after the time of the High Tide. People are advised to exercise caution next to coast in the risk areas. Subsequent Tides are not forecast to meet the Flood alert Criteria.

This Tidal Alert is issued for the significant High Spring Tide at around 13:10 pm today, Saturday 27th May 2017. Tides are currently higher than normal. As a result of this some very localised flooding of low lying land and low points on the road adjacent to the Kent Estuary between Sandside and Arnside and the foreshore carpark at Arnside may be subject to flooding for a period of an hour or more prior to and after the time of todays High Tide. People are advised to exercise caution next to coast in the risk areas. The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation and re-issue this Alert for any subsequent High Tides if required.

As a result of this some very localised flooding of low points on the road adjacent to the Kent Estuary between Sandside and Arnside and the lower part of the foreshore carpark at Arnside may be subject to flooding for an hour or more prior to and after the time of the High Tide. People are advised to exercise caution next to the coast in the risk areas. We will continue to monitor the situation and re-issue this Alert for any subsequent High Tides if required.
