River levels have risen at the Derby St Marys river gauge as a result of Storm BABET. Flooding continues.
Areas most at risk are the Derby, Water Treatment Works.
Further rainfall is forecast from Tuesday, 23/10/23. River levels are falling, but still pose a flood risk.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid any flood water from rivers and surrounding areas, this may contain hazards.

River Derwent
This Severe Flood Warning has been issued because of flooding in Derby City Centre as a result of Storm BABET.
Flooding continues.
Areas most at risk are the Derby, Water Treatment Works.
Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 36 hours, however river levels continue to rise due to rainfall traveling from the upper Derwent. We expect river levels to remain high until 23/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services and Derby City Council.
Stay away from flood water and do not take unnecessary risks. Please follow the advice of the emergency services and first responders on the ground and on Derby City Council’s website.

River levels are rising at the Derby St Marys river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall (Storm Babet). Consequently, flooding of property is expected to begin between 05:00 and 06:30 today, 21/10/23. Areas most at risk are the Derby, Water Treatment Works.
Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 06:00 on 22/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.
