River Wye
River levels have risen at the Ashford river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding is expected around midnight, tonight. Areas most at risk are Church Street area at Ashford in the Water, and the A6 at Buxton.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels are expected to remain high overnight, 11/11/2019 and tomorrow morning, 12/11/2019. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers, and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 12/11/2019, or as the situation changes.
