Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Tone, Hillfarrance Brook, Halsewater Stream, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels closely, and Field Teams have been clearing debris from weed screens and checking rivers for blockages.

River levels in the River tone area have risen in response to today's rainfall. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible throughout Saturday 23/11/2024 and into Sunday.
Rivers will continue to rise in response to the rainfall that has fallen through out Saturday 23/11/2024 and will continue to do so this evening and through the early hours of Sunday morning. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Tone, Hillfarrance Brook, Halsewater Stream, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road.
Sunday will be another wet day and we are monitoring rainfall and river levels, and staff have been clearing debris from weed screens and checking rivers for blockages.

Scattered, heavy showers are forecast throughout today and into the weekend. The catchments are saturated and rivers will remain responsive to further rain.

The rainfall has now passed out of the area although isolated showers remain possible for Saturday and Sunday. The overnight band of rainfall has now pass out of the area but there is still the possibility of showers for the rest of the weekend and into Monday. River levels on the River Tone and the Halsewater Stream are still slowly rising but are not as high as previously forecast and are currently below the Flood Alert criteria. This Flood Alert remains in force whilst the river continues to rise. Levels on the Hillfarrance Brook have peaked and now falling. The flooding of low-lying land and roads is still possible, but no property flooding is expected at this time.

There is a possibility of flooding on roads near Ham and Creech St Michael. Bradford on Tone ringbanks may be bankfull. The rainfall has now passed out of the area and we expect much drier weather for the rest of Sunday and for Monday and Tuesday. River levels on the Hillfarrance Brook at Milverton and the River Tone at Greenham are rising due to the heavy rain that has been falling this morning, Sunday 15/03/20. The catchments are very wet and, together with the rain, this has caused levels to rise to Flood Alert level for the upper areas of the River Tone Catchment. There is a possibility of flooding for roads around Hillfarrance and Bradford on Tone, and later today for roads near Ham and Creech St Michael. Bradford on Tone ringbanks may be bankfull. The current band of rain is expected to continue until about midday today, and to be followed by drier weather with occasional showers this afternoon. This will give way to dry weather on Sunday night, and throughout Monday and most of Tuesday. We are closely monitoring the situation and checking rivers, debris screens and bridges for blockages. The River Tone level upstream at Greenham and the Hillfarrance Brook at Milverton both peaked this morning and now fallen. The flooding of property is not expected but roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road may still be affected by floodwater.
The rainfall has now passed out of the area and drier conditions are forecast for tonight and Friday, 06/03/20. We will continue to monitor the situation.
