Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Tone, Hillfarrance Brook, Halsewater Stream, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road. Bradford on Tone ringbanks will be bankfull.
Saturday is forecast to be predominantly dry, before a further band of rain arrives on Sunday morning. We are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels, and staff have been clearing debris from weed screens and checking rivers for blockages.

Levels are rising in the River Tone at Bishops Hull and on its tributaries, as a result of heavy overnight rain. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible throughout Friday, 01/03/2024.
Flooding is possible for roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road. Bradford on Tone ringbanks could be bankfull.
Scattered, heavy showers are forecast throughout today and into the weekend. The catchments are saturated and rivers will remain responsive to further rain.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our staff are checking defences and clearing weed screens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near rivers, plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads, which may be flooded, and refer to local authority websites for local road conditions.

The overnight band of rainfall has now pass out of the area but there is still the possibility of showers for the rest of the weekend and into Monday. River levels on the River Tone and the Halsewater Stream are still slowly rising but are not as high as previously forecast and are currently below the Flood Alert criteria. This Flood Alert remains in force whilst the river continues to rise. Levels on the Hillfarrance Brook have peaked and now falling. The flooding of low-lying land and roads is still possible, but no property flooding is expected at this time.
We will continue to monitor the rainfall and river levels and our staff are checking flood defences and clearing weed screens.

After a mostly dry Friday, a band of rain will return early Saturday morning through to late afternoon. Unsettled weather will continue through the weekend and into Monday 20 November. The flooding of low-lying land and roads could occur from approximately 07:30 Saturday morning. No property flooding is expected at this time.

Following a band of rainfall over Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, the River Tone at Bishops Hull and the Halsewater Stream are rising, and this Flood Alert has been issued. The flooding of low-lying land near the River Tone and the Halsewater Stream is possible from midday today, Thursday 16/11/2023. No property flooding is expected.
Unsettled weather will continue with possible showers during Thursday and Friday before a band of more sustained rainfall over Friday night and into Saturday.

The river levels on the Hillfarrance Brook at Milverton and the River Tone at Greenham peaked earlier today and are now below flood levels. The River Tone at Bishops Hull has also just peaked and is now just starting to fall but the level still remains high and this flood alert remains in force for the rest of today. There is a possibility of flooding on roads near Ham and Creech St Michael. Bradford on Tone ringbanks may be bankfull. The rainfall has now passed out of the area and we expect much drier weather for the rest of Sunday and for Monday and Tuesday. River levels on the Hillfarrance Brook at Milverton and the River Tone at Greenham are rising due to the heavy rain that has been falling this morning, Sunday 15/03/20. The catchments are very wet and, together with the rain, this has caused levels to rise to Flood Alert level for the upper areas of the River Tone Catchment. There is a possibility of flooding for roads around Hillfarrance and Bradford on Tone, and later today for roads near Ham and Creech St Michael. Bradford on Tone ringbanks may be bankfull. The current band of rain is expected to continue until about midday today, and to be followed by drier weather with occasional showers this afternoon. This will give way to dry weather on Sunday night, and throughout Monday and most of Tuesday. We are closely monitoring the situation and checking rivers, debris screens and bridges for blockages. The level on the River Tone at Bishops Hull and the Halse water remains high and this flood alert remains in force with the continued risk of the flooding of roads and farmland. The River Tone level upstream at Greenham and the Hillfarrance Brook at Milverton both peaked this morning and now fallen. The flooding of property is not expected but roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road may still be affected by floodwater.
The rainfall has now passed out of the area and drier conditions are forecast for tonight and Friday, 06/03/20. We will continue to monitor the situation.
