Flood Warning in force: South Devon Coast at Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish. Flooding is expected for: Exposed coastal areas at Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Teignmouth Promenade and Dawlish. Immediate action required. High water at Teignmouth is at 19:45, times of High Water will vary along the coast. Strong South South Westerly winds up to Force 8 and offshore wave heights of up to 3.1m are forecast which may cause spray and wave overtopping of sea defences – specifically at Beesands and possibly Torcross. Expect tides to be up to 530mm higher than predicted on tide tables. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Detailed tide information for those who use it: The forecast high tide level is 2.67 m AOD, this is 530mm above astronomical tide level. Wind speeds peak at south south west Force 8.

Flooding is expected for: Exposed coastal areas at Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Teignmouth Promenade and Dawlish. Immediate action required. Flooding is possible for Beesands and Torcross over the high tide on Friday evening. High water at Teignmouth is at 19:45, times of High Water will vary along the coast. Strong South South Westerly winds up to Force 8 and offshore wave heights of up to 3.1m are forecast which may cause spray and wave overtopping of sea defences – specifically at Beesands and possibly Torcross. Expect tides to be up to 530mm higher than predicted on tide tables. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Environment Agency staff will continue to monitor tide levels, and issue updates as required.

Flooding is possible for Beesands and Torcross over the high tide on Friday morning. High water at Plymouth is at 08:30BST, times of High Water will vary along the coast. Strong Southerly winds up to Force 8 and offshore wave heights of up to 4m are forecast which may cause spray and wave overtopping of sea defences – specifically at Beesands and possibly Torcross. Expect tides to be up to 400mm higher than predicted on tide tables. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Environment Agency staff will continue to monitor tide levels, and issue updates as required. Detailed tide information for those who use it: The forecast high tide level is 2.71mAOD, this is 310mm above astronomical tide level. Wind speeds peak at southerly Force 8, with offshore wave heights expected between 3 and 4 meters.

English Channel, South Devon Coast
Flooding is expected for Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish over the high tide on Saturday evening. High water at Teignmouth is at 19:30 Friday evening and 07:45 Saturday morning. Times of high water will vary along the coast. The tide will be up to 300 mm higher than predicted due to weather conditions. Force 7 East North Easterly winds are forecast with offshore wave heights of 2.2m on Friday PM high tide. Force 5 South Easterly winds are forecast with offshore wave heights of 1.6m on Saturday AM high tide. However conditions may apply, 2 hours either side of the high tide. Although conditions are expected to be less intense than the Friday morning tide the criteria for a Flood Alert are met. Because, coastal assets affected have not yet been fully checked for damage we think it prudent to issue this flood warning. Avoid coastal paths and promenades. Coastal conditions should ease by Sunday, we will issue updates if the situation changes.
