Tide levels, wind strength and wave conditions are reducing today. Flooding is possible 3 hours either side of high tide on the morning of Thursday 23rd. Areas particularly at risk include Torbay, Teignmouth, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish. The high tide at Teignmouth on Thursday is at 11:45AM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 1.24mAOD, which is 0.08 metres above tide table level. Strong Easterly winds and offshore wave heights up to 1.4m are forecast over the high tide. Coastal conditions are forecast to ease throughout the day. This flood warning, and the South Devon Coast Flood Alert from Start Point to Dawlish Warren, will be removed after low tide this afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation. Strong South Easterly winds and offshore wave heights up to 1.7m are forecast over the high tide. Coastal conditions should ease for Thursday morning's high tide. The high tide at Exmouth on Tuesday is at 22:16, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 1.96mAOD, which is 0.18 metres above tide table level. Strong force 6 Easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 2.2m are forecast over the high tides. Coastal conditions should ease for Thursday morning's high tide. Flooding is possible up to 3 hours either side of high tide tonight, Wednesday 18 February. Coastal conditions for Wednesday evening's and Thursday morning's high tides are expected to be less hazardous than those experienced during Wednesday morning's high tide, especially at Torcross. Coastal conditions are forecast to continue easing throughout the rest of the week. Recent storms have increased the risk of wave overtopping at Torcross. We advise avoiding exposed areas due to expected flooding and wave spray containing debris. The A379 Slapton Line beyond Torcross car park towards Dartmouth is closed. Tidal forecast are for high water at Teignmouth at 7:30PM Wednesday 18 February, water level 2.33mAOD, which is 0.52 metres above tide table level. Northerly wind speed 5 is forecast, with an offshore wave height of over 1.3m.

The high tide at Teignmouth on Friday is at 09:30PM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.49mAOD, which is 0.83 metres above tide table level. Gale force 8 southeasterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 3.8m are forecast over the high tide. Coastal conditions should ease after Saturday morning's high tide.
