South Devon Coast
High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding today. Flooding is expected from 06:45PM to 10:45PM on Friday. Areas particularly at risk include Challaborough, Hope Cove, North and South Sands - South Sands Hotel and Salcombe Sea. Kayaks and Old Lifeboat House, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Southpool, Frogmore, and Lower Batson. The high tide at Plymouth on Friday is at 08:45PM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.8 mAOD, which is 0.86 metres above tide table level. Force 7 south-easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 6.3m are forecast over the high tide. Coastal conditions should ease after Saturday morning's high tide. We are closely monitoring the situation . Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
