Bristol Channel, River Taw, River Torridge, North Devon Coast
Flooding is expected over the high tide Thursday evening. High water at Ilfracombe on Thursday is at 20:15. Times of high water will vary along the coast. Conditions apply two hours either side of high tide. The tidal gates at Instow will remain closed and the Environment Agency will be in the local area deploying sandbags and pumps. Force 7 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of 4.3m are forecast. This may cause localised property flooding and standing water on roads. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on local radio. Tides and wave heights are forecast to be lower after tonight’s high tide. We are monitoring the situation and will update this information on Friday morning or if the situation changes. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level on Thursday evening is 5.28 mAOD; this is 0.41 metres above astronomical tide level.

Force 6 west south west winds and offshore wave heights of up to 4.4m are forecast. This may cause localised property flooding and standing water on roads. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on the local radio. We are monitoring the situation and will update this information on Thursday afternoon or if the situation changes. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level on Thursday morning is 5.53 mAOD and 5.15 mAOD on Thursday evening; this is 0.12 metres and 0.13 metres above astronomical tide level.

High water at Ilfracombe on Wednesday at 19:30 and Thursday at 07:45, times of high water will vary along the coast. Conditions apply two hours either side of high tide. The tidal gate at Instow has been closed. Force 7 west south west winds and offshore wave heights of 4.5m are forecast. This may cause localised property flooding and standing water on roads. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on the local radio. We are monitoring the situation and will update this information on Thursday morning or if the situation changes. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level on Wednesday evening is 5.61 mAOD and 5.58 mAOD on Thursday morning; this is 0.53 metres and 0.37 metres above astronomical tide level.
