River Teign

High river levels are expected to cause flooding this morning.  Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 .  Further rain falling in the area will continue throughout the early hours of the morning. Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 08:30AM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Kingsteignton around the racecourse . Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 08:30AM and midday.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .  Please do not drive through floodwater as bow waves may affect adjacent properties .Start acting on your flood plan if you have one  This message will be updated by 3:00PM on 27 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

River Teign

Flooding is expected throughout Sunday 24th November. Heavy rain falling in the Newton Abbot area will continue during Sunday. This is causing the River Teign to rise and the risk of flooding remains throughout Sunday. Properties and low lying areas around Newton Abbot racecourse will be the first to flood. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the day and this message will be updated as the situation changes. Our staff are out in the area and will relay information and assist the emergency services and council.
