River Culm

Continuing high river levels mean flooding remains possible today and overnight into 28 January. Heavy rain has fallen throughout Monday and into Tuesday and further showers are possible. Catchments are saturated and rivers are expected to remain high. Properties and low lying areas remain at risk, particularly in Cullompton and Alexandria Industrial Estate. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. River Culm

High river levels are expected to cause flooding today.  Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 .  Heavy rain has fallen in the area overnight and showers are possible throughout the day. Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 09:00AM on Tuesday. The main area of concern is Cullompton, particularly Alexandria Industrial Estate. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be high throughout the day.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .  Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car .
