Flooding is possible from this evening, Monday 01/01/24 and overnight into Tuesday. Over the last week we have seen heavy rain fall across Devon, and further spells of rain, which may be heavy in places are expected on Monday evening and overnight. This means that river levels in the upper Torridge Area will rise, and will remain high for the next couple of days, as heavy rain is falling on already wet ground. Levels suggest that there will be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river. More heavy rain on Tuesday will cause river levels to rise again, and will be accompanied by very windy conditions. Possible Flood Warnings may be issued if necessary. Flooding is possible from Wednesday morning 23/11/2022.
The heavy showers experienced throughout Tuesday morning are slowly beginning to clear the area. From the early hours of Wednesday morning a band of rain will bring a spell of heavy rain.
Catchments are extremely wet and river levels will react to any further rainfall. River levels will remain high throughout Tuesday. Levels are forecast to rise once again during Wednesday morning and flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river is likely.

Over the last 12 hours we have seen heavy rainfall in the Upper River Torridge area. This has meant that the Rivers Torridge, Waldon and Lew are now rising.

Flooding is possible in the Upper Torridge area. Catchments are wet and further heavy rainfall is forecast in the area from 8pm today (Wednesday 20 October) until midnight. Flooding is forecast to occur overnight and into the early hours of Thursday, affecting low lying land and roads, and areas close to the river. Heavy rainfall will ease into Thursday morning, after which flooding is no longer expected, although there may be standing water for a few days. Please take care and avoid fast flowing water. Rain has continued to fall overnight resulting in river levels remaining higher than normal. A flood alert remains in force due to further rain expected during Saturday 20th February. The risk of flooding from rivers has now reduced, and river levels are falling below levels of concern. River levels to still remain high and as a result this Flood Alert is still in force. Widespread totals of up to 35mm, with localised totals up to 70mm are forecast within a 15 hour period from Friday afternoon. Areas of higher ground such as Dartmoor may see isolated totals of up to 100mm in 15 hours. Rivers are expected to respond quickly to this rainfall. Flooding of low-lying land and roads close to rivers is possible. Surface water may be deep, especially where leaves have blocked the drains. The heavy and persistent rainfall experienced in the early hours of Saturday morning has now cleared the area, with wintry showers to follow throughout the day.
The ground in many areas is totally saturated and the rainfall has caused rivers to rise and they are expected to remain high throughout Saturday.

River levels are forecast to rise across Devon as a result of heavy rainfall this afternoon and overnight into Thursday. Consequently, flooding of roads and low-lying land is possible widely throughout Devon.

Heavy rain is forecast from the early hours of tomorrow morning, Saturday 2nd November, which will last throughout the day. This is likely to be widespread and persistent with the potential for surface water and river flooding throughout Saturday.
Widespread totals of around 20-40mm of rain are expected. There is potential for localised totals of up to 80mm particularly on higher ground. The forecast is unclear on the precise location of these areas in Devon.
Catchments are already wet from recent wet weather and are likely to react quickly to further rainfall. This will be accompanied by strong westerly winds which could lead to significant leaf fall, contributing to increased flood risk due to blocked drainage gullies.
