Flooding is possible on the afternoon of Thursday 31st May and into the morning of Friday 1st June. Heavy thundery rain is forecast for this afternoon through until Friday morning. The Met Office have issued an Amber weather warning for rain for this area during this time. We expect smaller rivers and their tributaries particularly in built up areas to react quickly to this rainfall causing localised flooding in some areas, there is also likely to be significant surface water flooding in some areas. Flooding to low lying land and roads both from surface water and localised river flooding is expected. Take care near the areas of concern particularly if driving and monitor your local weather conditions. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages in this location. This message will be updated this evening or if the situation changes.
