River levels have risen at the Maiden Newton river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall falling on saturated ground. Further heavy rainfall associated with Storm Dennis is expected over the weekend. Consequently, there is a significant risk of flooding of flooding for areas in Hooke, Toller Porcorum, Toller Fratrum, Cattistock, Higher Frome Vauchurch, Frome Vauchurch, and Maiden Newton.

River levels are rising at the Maiden Newton river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads, properties and farmland is possible from around 14:30 today, 12/12/19. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Dorchester Road and Frome Lane area of Maiden Newton. River levels can rise very quickly in response to heavy rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using bridges over local watercourses and can owners with property flood resilience equipment install it now.
