Consequently, risk of flooding remains but is dropping and there is a possibility of flooding for Alton Pancras, Piddletrenthide, Piddlehinton, Druce, Puddletown, Athelhampton, Affpuddle, Briantspuddle, Throop and Wareham including Purbeck View Park. More showery weather is forecast for the next few days. River levels can rise very quickly in response to heavy rainfall. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are in contact with community flood wardens. Please avoid using bridges over local watercourses and can owners with property flood resilience equipment install it now. Today, 06/03/20 is forecast to be dry, but wetter weather is forecast for the weekend and Monday. River levels can rise very quickly in response to heavy rainfall. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Alton Pancras, Piddletrenthide, Piddlehinton, Druce, Puddletown, Athelhampton, Affpuddle, Briantspuddle, Throop and Wareham including Purbeck View Park Further showers are possible today with heavier rainfall forecast over the weekend. River levels remain high at the Little Puddle and Briantspuddle river gauges as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to further rainfall. We expect today’s rainfall to sustain the current high river levels until Wednesday when further more significant rainfall is forecast and has the potential to cause river levels to rise further. High groundwater levels are being topped up by repeated bands of rainfall and we expect river levels to remain high for the rest of the week; consequently, the risk of flooding remains. River levels can rise quickly in response to rainfall. This message will be updated on Wednesday 26/02/20 unless the situation changes. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels remain high at the Little Puddle and Briantspuddle river gauges as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to further rainfall. High groundwater levels are adding to the river levels; consequently, the risk of flooding remains. We expect flooding to affect Alton Pancras, Piddletrenthide, Piddlehinton, Druce, Puddletown, Athelhampton, Affpuddle, Briantspuddle, Throop and Wareham including Purbeck View Park. Further light rainfall is forecast later on Saturday afternoon and overnight into Sunday which will sustain the current high river levels throughout the weekend. River levels can rise quickly in response to rainfall but we currently don't expect the Piddle to rise significantly in response to this rainfall. This message will be updated on Monday 24/2/20 unless the situation changes. We are closely monitoring the situation.
