This is a Flood Warning Update. Increased flooding is forecast to impact the Lower Dorset Stour due to increased flows and tidal influence. Impacts are most likely in undefended areas of Willow Way, Marina View, Watermead, Priory Quay, Convent Meadows, Sopers Lane and Mayors Mead Car Park. Further showers are forecast throughout the weekend with heavier rain expected from Monday. We are closely monitoring the situation. We advise people to move cars away from low lying areas. Refer to local authority websites for road closures. Please take care and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. This message will be updated by 5:00PM on 1 February 2026 or as the situation changes.

Increased flooding is forecast to impact the Lower Dorset Stour due to increased flows and tidal influence. Impacts are most likely in undefended areas of Willow Way, Marina View, Watermead, Priory Quay, Convent Meadows, Sopers Lane and Mayors Mead Car Park. We advise to move cars parked away from low lying areas and be prepared to evacuate if required. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities . Follow advice from emergency services and call 999 if in immediate danger. We are closing flood gates . Activate any flood protection products you may have . Locations most affected will be Parley, Corfe Mullen, Hampreston, Ferndown, Throop, Hurn, Bournemouth and Christchurch.
