Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Upper Dorset Stour, Shreen Water, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Lodbourne, Bay Bridge and Colesbrook.
Flooding is affecting Lodbourne, Bay Bridge and Colesbrook from 09:00 PM on 04/01/2024.
No further significant rainfall is forecast.
River levels are high, but the risk of flooding to low-lying land remains.

River levels are high and rising in the Shreen Water from Colesbrook to Bay Bridge as a result of heavy overnight rainfall. Areas at Lodbourne, Bay Bridge and Colesbrook will be affected. Consequently, flooding of low-lying land, roads and farmland is possible. The ford at Colesbrook will have increased flows and there is a possibility of flooding for tributaries between Gillingham and Sturminster Newton.
Further rainfall is forecast and we expect levels to rise further in response and we are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, consider installing property flood resilience equipment, plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures.
