River levels are rising rapidly on the Swan Brook due to heavy rainfall. River levels are expected to remain high on the Swan Brook. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Swan Brook, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Victoria Ave, Kings Rd, Chestnut Mew, Church Hill, Springfield Rd, Cornwall Rd, Commerical Rd, Station Rd, Institute Rd, The Square, Shore Rd, High St and Parade in Swanage. River levels are expected to remain high and flooding of properties will continue. Further heavy rainfall is forecast this afternoon. River levels are expected to remain high, but the risk of flooding to properties remains. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 05:00 PM on 04/01/2024, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen rapidly as a result of intense heavy rainfall due to thunderstorm activity. Consequently, flooding of property is imminent. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Victoria Ave, Kings Rd, Chestnut Mew, Church Hill, Springfield Rd, Cornwall Rd, Commerical Rd, Station Rd, Institute Rd, The Square, Shore Rd, High St and Parade in Swanage. River levels can rise very quickly in response to heavy rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please can owners with property flood resilience equipment install it now. There is no further heavy rainfall forecast at this point. River levels are high and are still rising in the Swan Brook at the river gauge as a result of saturated ground and heavy rainfall overnight. Further light rainfall is forecast on Saturday morning which will sustain the current high river levels thoughout the weekend. High groundwater levels are adding to river levels; consequently, there is a risk of flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. This message will be updated on Sunday 31/01/21, or as the situation changes.
