Storm Eunice is bringing severe gale force winds across Dorset early Friday and into Saturday, coinciding with low spring tides.
We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast. A tidal surge will increase the water levels around high water and overtopping of sea defences is possible.
Forecast high water is 10:05 on 18/02/18 with a level of 1.52 mAOD and a Force 9 south westerlies. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Poole Town Quay gauge.
Flooding to roads is possible, however conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide.
We expect flooding to affect Lower Hamworthy and areas of Poole from Old Town, The Quay to Hunger Hill.

Second forecast high water is 11:45 on 21/08/20 with a level of 1.41 mAOD and a Force 7 South Southwest wind. Flooding to roads is possible at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Lower Hamworthy and areas of Poole from Old Town, The Quay to Hunger Hill.
Low pressure will cause sea levels to be higher than forecast in tide tables.

Some overtopping of sea defences is expected as a result of a high tide and a tidal surge. The forecast high water is at 13:00 on Thursday, 13/02/2020 and the forecast tide level is 1.4 m AOD. The forecast wind is Force 5, southerly. Tide times are in local time and refer to high water at Poole RNLI Tide Gauge. Flooding is possible at this time, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of minor flooding for Lower Hamworthy and areas along the harbourside from the RNLI building to Sandbanks including Dee Way, The Fisherman's Quay and Shore Road.
Coastal conditions should ease for the evening tide on Thursday, but will deteriorate by the weekend with the arrival of storm Dennis.
Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the situation along the Dorset Coast.

The forecast wind is South West Force 6. Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Wareham. Flooding to roads and farmland//properties is possible//forecast at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. A large tidal surge is expected to affect Poole Harbour as a result of high spring tides this evening and tomorrow morning 27/11/2019. High water is at 9pm this evening 26/11/2019 at 1.4 m above ordnance datum and the morning of 27/11/2019 at 9.21 am at 1.55 m ordnance datum. Flooding to roads and property is possible and may apply two to four hours either side of the high tides. There is the possibility of flooding of West Quay and Lower Hamworthy Quay. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closing gates.
