High tides and forecast weather conditions are expected to cause flooding tomorrow morning. Flooding is expected from 8:30 AM on 20/10/2024. Areas most at risk include Chesil Bank and The Fleet Nature Reserve and Ferry Bridge Marine Services, Portland Beach Road. Tidal conditions are expected to improve tomorrow evening and no flooding is expected. We are closely monitoring the situation  Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded. Please do not drive through floodwater as bow waves may affect adjacent properties. Stay away from floodwater - it contains hidden dangers such as open manhole covers, sewage and chemicals. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Portland Harbour of 1.81 mAODN at 8:30 AM on 20/10/2024, with southerly force 7 winds. Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. Waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at Chesil Bank and The Fleet Nature Reserve and Ferry Bridge Marine Services, Portland Beach Road. The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Portland Harbour of 1.91 mAODN at 8:00 PM this evening on 08/04/2024, with southerly force 7 winds. The second peak is at 8:00 AM tomorrow on 09/04/2024, with westerly force 7 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.) We will continue to monitor the forecast. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. We urge all people to take care and not drive through flood water. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. The tide tomorrow morning 12/03/24 is expected to be higher than usual due to the very high spring tides. The peak level in Portland Harbour is forecast to be 1.81 mAOD at 8:27AM with a Force 5 South Westerly wind. This peak level is only just meeting our criteria for a Flood Warning and is expected to only be at this level for approximately half an hour. Weather conditions are not expected to produce large onshore winds. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Plan driving routes to coastal roads, which may be flooded. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.) High water is expected between 7:30-11 am this morning. The forecast is dry for throughout the morning. After this tide‚ the weather is more settled and no further impacts are expected. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Friday morning's tide at 6:00 AM is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with southerly force 5 winds and large waves. Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. Highest tide level of 1.81m AOD s expected to be at Chesil Bank and The Fleet Nature Reserve and Ferry Bridge Marine Services, Portland Beach Road at 5:45 AM on 09/02/2024. Flooding is possible <ENTER NUMBER> hours either side of this time. Weather conditions are expected to produce large onshore waves. We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next 3 days days and as a result we may issue further alerts/warnings. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Storm Eunice is expected to bring severe gale force winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the Dorset coast early Friday and into Saturday, coinciding with low spring tides. We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast. Areas most at risk include Chesil Bank and The Fleet Nature Reserve and Ferry Bridge Marine Services, Portland Beach Road. The forecast high water for Chiswell is at 07:51 AM on 18/02/2022 with a level of 1.81 mAODN with south-westerly force 9 winds and waves of 5.3 metres. (mAODN is height above average sea level) Storm Eunice is forecast to produce a large offshore tidal surge which will increase water levels for one to two hours either side of high water. We are activating flood signs at Wyke Regis and Portland. We are working with emergency services and local authorities and are closely monitoring the situation. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. A large tidal surge is expected to affect Portland Harbour at Ferry Bridge as a result of high spring tides and low pressure tomorrow morning 27/11/2019. High water is at around 6:57am in the morning of 27/11/2019 predicted at 1.85 m above ordnance datum. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Chesil Bank and The Fleet Nature Reserve and Ferry Bridge Marine Services, Portland Beach Road. Flooding to roads and property is possible and may apply two to four hours either side of the high tides. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads. This message will be updated tomorrow, 27/11/2019, or as the situation changes.
