River levels have risen on the River Wear at Bishop Auckland, Willington and Page Bank as a result of persistent heavy rainfall caused by Storm Ciara. Property flooding is expected between 13:00 and 16:00 today, 09/02/2020. Areas most at risk are Properties at Flatts Farm at Bishop Auckland, Farnley, Furness Mill Farm and Lowfield Farm Cottages at Willington, Shafto House and New Row at Page Bank. Please avoid contact with flood water and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Rainfall is forecast to clear from lunchtime today, 09/02/2020. We expect river levels on the River Wear to continue to respond into this afternoon in response to the heavy rainfall and remain high for the rest of the day. We are closely monitoring the situation.
